A great new blog by Brené Brown COURAGE WORKS.
As a passionate reader, I’m always asking friends and colleagues for book recommendations. The standard replies of “I couldn’t put it down” or “It changed my life” are never enough information for me to commit to a book. Time is an unrenewable resource and I need more data before I say, “I do.”
A couple of years ago, I started asking people to tell me about specific passages or quotes that moved them or offered up a new way of seeing the world. It’s become a wonderful conversation – one that gives me great insight into books (and the people reading them).
HIGH-Five is my way of sharing these conversations with you. Every week or two I’ll share five quotes, passages, or learnings from a book that I’ve read and loved. I mostly read nonfiction (personal and professional development, leadership, parenting, memoirs, etc.) and historical fiction. But you never know!
My first HIGH-Five goes to Shonda Rhimes and her book,Year of Yes.
