and imprison you

Mis-Understand

I don’t try to understand your pain

nor empathize with what you gain

by making choices of denial

waiting for time to pass

all the while forgetting

how

to

live

 

I don’t try to understand

a choice to abstain

from love and passion

intimacy that is a God-given-gift

the closest we can ever come to

Heaven

on

Earth

 

I do understand

death and war

for death is a beginning

and wars are never ending

but Love is eternal

 

and more than that

I must agree

with the Rabbi’s message

sent to me
