Give Unconditional Love is not a Top Ten Rule For Success that I would expect to hear from Warren Buffett. For those of you too young or simply unfamiliar with Mr.Buffett let me share a few things about him. First, he’s from Omaha Nebraska, born, raised and never left. Second, he’s very humble as you will see in this video put together by my friend and mentor Evan Carmichael of #BELIEVE Nation. And third, and what you most likely know about Warren Buffett, he has been on the top or within the top 5 of Forbes List of Billionaires for as long as I can remember.
Top 10 Billionaires in the World
#3: Warren Buffett
Net Worth: $85.1B
Country: United States
Warren Buffett is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK.A), a conglomerate which owns more than 60 companies. Geico, Duracell, and Dairy Queen are just a few examples.
Buffett is one of the most successful investors of all time, but he has committed to giving more than 99% of his fortune to charity. In 2010 he and Bill Gates launched The Giving Pledge, which asked billionaires to donate half their wealth to charitable causes.
In the video attached to this list, Mr. Buffett says he was 7 when he started reading the books in his hometown library. By the time he was 11 he had read every book the library had on investing!
Here are his top ten Rules for Success.
- FIND YOUR PASSION
- HIRE WELL
- DON’T CARE WHAT OTHERS THINK
- READ, READ, READ
- HAVE A MARGIN OF SAFETY
- HAVE A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
- SCHEDULE FOR YOUR PERSONALITY
- ALWAYS BE COMPETING
- MODEL SUCCESS
- GIVE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE

Yes. He is very old. I think all the top world billionaires are all over 60 or 70! I found it fascinating that he started reading in the library at such a young age and read everything about investing by the time he was 11! It shows us that it doesn’t matter how old you are, you’re never to young to have dreams.
