If you buy only one book this year, this is the one!

Alex Banayan and Larry King

Life, business, success . . . it’s just like a nightclub. There are always three ways in.

I cannot begin to explain my excitement in discovering this book.

Meet Alex Banayan with Larry King.

He dropped out of Med School when he was 19. He decided that he was dying in Biology classes following a pre-ordained path set by his Iranian Immigrant parents who expected him to be a doctor. He woke up one morning and knew he didn’t want to be a doctor. The disappointment and consequent heartbreak due to his parent’s sacrifice for his education will sound familiar to many. And he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life, but he was passionate about finding out how the great ones started–not what made them successful, there’s a lot written about that. But how did super successful get that first break?

My enthusiasm for this book and the interviews I’ve listened to have brought both tears and tons of inspiration, into my life. It doesn’t matter what stage of life you’re in, what age, or what career choice you’ve made, this story is for you. And if you have children or partners struggling with life decisions, buy this book for them too.

I can’t wait to hear what you think.

There’s the First Door: the main entrance, where 99 percent of people wait in line, hoping to get in. The Second Door: the VIP entrance, where the billionaires and celebrities slip through. But what no one tells you is that there is always, always . . . the Third Door. It’s the entrance where you have to jump out of line, run down the alley, bang on the door a hundred times, crack open the window, sneak through the kitchen–there’s always a way.

Can you show us a window to your love?

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled byAnd thathas made all the differenceRobert Frost

Oh my. This question gave me shivers.                                                 (on Quora)

There’s a guru on YouTube named Evan Carmichael. He wrote a book called “One Word.” He states that everyone should define their brand or their belief system with one word. His is Belief. Mine is LOVE.

If you open my Amazon book profile, my first three books have LOVE in their title. I use the word constantly. I’m not afraid to tell people I love them. I don’t hold back, ever. I lead from love. It’s my most important value.

The window… yes, that beautiful window. I’ve lived my life following my heart, following love.

As Robert Frost said, “Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

I chose the path of love. And no matter how many twists and turns my life took, how many wins, losses, and disappointments, I wouldn’t change any of it for any reason. I always moved forward from a place of love.

Coelho…The Soul, Our Dreams

I know, I obsess.

But more from Manuscript Found in Accra, Paolo Coelho

“Our soul is governed by four invisible forces: love, death, power, and time.

When you are going through difficult times, remember: you might have lost some major battles, but you survived and you’re still here. That is a victory. Show your happiness and celebrate your ability to go forward. Pour your love generously out onto the fields and pastures, down the streets of the big city and across the dunes of the desert. Show that you care about the poor, for they are an opportunity for you to display the virtue of charity. And care, too, about the rich, who distrust everything and everyone, keeping their granaries crammed with grain and their coffers full, but who, despite that, cannot drive away loneliness. Never miss an opportunity to show your love, especially to those close to you, because we are always at our most cautious with them for fear of being hurt.

Love–because you will be the first to benefit. The world around you will reward you, even if, at first, you say to yourself: “They don’t understand my love.” Love does not need to be understood. It needs only to be shown. Therefore, what the future holds for you depends entirely on your capacity for love. And for that, you must have absolute and total confidence in what you are doing. Don’t let others say: “That road is better.” or “That route is easier.” The greatest gift God gave us is the power to make decisions. We were all told from childhood that what we wanted to do was impossible. As we accumulate years we also accumulate the sand of prejudices, fears, and guilt.

Free yourself from that. Not tomorrow, not tonight, but now. As I said: many of us believe we will hurt those we love if we leave everything behind in the name of our dreams. But those who truly want the best for us want us to be happy, even if they can’t understand what we are doing, and even if, at first, they try to stop us from going ahead by means of threats, promises, and tears. The adventure of the days to come needs to be filled with romance because the world needs that; therefore, when you are mounted on your horse, feel the wind on your face and enjoy the sense of freedom. But don’t forget that you have a long journey ahead. If you surrender totally to the romance of it all, you might fail. If you don’t stop occasionally to let both you and your horse rest, your horse might die of thirst or exhaustion. Listen to the wind, but don’t forget about your horse. And precisely when everything seems to be going well and your dream is almost within your grasp, that is when you must be more alert than ever. Because when your dream is almost within your grasp, you will be assailed by terrible guilt. You will see that you are about to arrive at a place where very few have ever set foot, and you will think that you don’t deserve what life is giving you. You will forget all the obstacles you overcame, all that you suffered and sacrificed. And because of that feeling of guilt, you could unconsciously destroy everything that took you so long to build.”

YOUR JOB IS TO
Trust your intuition, your gut, your heart.

Lets’ take that chance… on …. following our passion!
We must ignore the chatter in our head, the doubt, worry, judgment, and fear.

Your intuition is pushing you forward, dance, sing, follow your passion even while your chatter says, what if I fail? Your brain is designed to keep you safe, it’s logical, but your INTUITION is that spark of passion, love, desire, that “I want to leave my fingerprint on this planet!”
That desire is found in your gut; you “feel it here, and here and here…”

Your job is not to turn down the doubt but to turn up the passion, the faith, the possibility… Follow the plan…. the brain likes a plan, do the details, set the plan in place….

Turn down the volume in your head–your fear–and turn up the volume of your intuition. Follow your heart.

Make Big decisions with your heart/gut, and the small decisions with your head.

PLAY BIG.

DREAM A DREAM that MAKES YOU NERVOUS–3/5/10 years out.  IF IT DOESN’T MAKE YOU NERVOUS, IT’S NOT BIG ENOUGH! IF You know HOW you’re going to get there, you’re not playing big enough….

What Did You Do That Changed Your Life the Most?

Who is Author Lynda Filler?

I fell in love with a Mexican man who was way younger than me, like over twenty years younger! I gave up my luxurious lifestyle, and high-powered position in Canada, and moved to Mexico to be with him. It was 2002 and without a doubt one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. I will always love him even though we’ve both moved on and found others to love.

I feel he grew up with me and I learned unconditional love with him. Together we healed those parts of us that were lost.

I’m a writer so I won’t say that Target In The Sun (Carlos & Mia Book 1) is our story, but people who know me are certain that most of this “fictional” romantic raunchy mystery book about an older woman and her younger Latino lover is true.

This is what I learned:

  1. If you are only going to live once, do it with #passion!
  2. Always listen to your #heart
  3. Never ever have regrets, #LOVE is everything
  4. Don’t stay in an unhappy marriage because of the kids. Leave that unhappy marriage for the kids
  5. be courageous in love, it will give you moments and memories that will last you for a lifetime

A Warrior Woman’s Words of Wisdom

LOVE her Wisdom… I needed to hear/read this today. Maybe it’s for you too. I’ll list my favorites and the link to the article is at the bottom.

On Dreams:

“I was never the cool kid, I was never hot in high school. I was never popular. You don’t have to be perfect and you don’t have to be rich and you can still be successful.” — V Magazine

On Acceptance:

“I have channeled my feelings of severe hopelessness and depression, I’ve overcome obstacles, and I have found strength in myself even when it felt out of reach. I’ve found what I had thought was an unobtainable place of peace. This song is about coming to feel empathy for someone else even if they hurt you or scare you. It’s a song about learning to be proud of the person you are even during low moments when you feel alone. It’s also about hoping everyone, even someone who hurt you, can heal.” — Lenny Letter (on her new single, “Praying”)

On Determination:

“If anyone tries to tell you that you can’t do what you want to, I think you should give them the finger and do it anyway.” — V Magazine
