The Road to San Pancho:  Ruggedly handsome, ripped and sun-bronzed Jared Stevens, a firefighter on vacation with surfboard in tow, happens upon Peace along the interstate, pulled over with apparent car troubles and being accosted by two drunk and disorderly roadies looking for more than just a good time.

Teary-eyed and heart torn, Peace steps away from life in coastal California on a dangerous quest that takes her down ominous highways to the eventual coastal splendor of San Pancho, Mexico. Suffering the heartache of the recent passing of her beloved mother, Peace is determined to find the father she never knew.

Together with her newfound friend Jared, who she would affectionately nickname ‘Rock’, their travels take them deep into the breathtaking, rugged beauty of mountainous, lush coastal Mexico with its radical tumbling surf, perfect for their passion of surfing the waves. Peace begins to experience life and new discoveries she never would have imagined possible.

Could her Mexican father possibly be found in this place of seeming paradise yet teaming with the omnipresent dark elements of drug cartels and related violence and corruption, murder and informants working with the DEA and CIA?

Peace finds solace in the stroking of a green-eyed dolphin pendant hanging from a necklace her mother had worn a lifetime long. Tearful memories drive her determination to press on. What perils would await them on The Road to San Pancho? What purpose brought her and Jared together on the open highway to a Mexican border beyond the distant, sun-drenched horizon before them?

Behind the scenes:

Award Winning USA Best Selling Author, Toby Neal added her LEI Crime Series to the Kindle World Family of Fan Fiction in 2015. If you are unfamiliar with the series, check out Toby Neal at Amazon books.

I was thrilled to be invited to write into the series after my first foray into fan-fic with JET, based on USA Today and NYT Best Selling Author Russell Blake. The Lei Crime Series is set in Hawaii. As fan-fic writers, we could choose any character or series of characters, from the original series, to write about. I chose the “ruggedly handsome” surfer-playboy firefighter Jared Stevens. But his current life was in California. Instead of sending him to Hawaii, I chose to bring him on an adventure to Mexico. The ROAD to SAN PANCHO is the first novella in the series  ($1.99) and NARCO ORPHANS is the 2nd in the series.

Narco Orphans NEW RELEASE

Exceptional and captivating author Lynda Filler pulls her readers in once again with this heart-stopping thriller suspense, action drama journey of love, heartache, search and discovery. No sooner than much anticipated ‘The Road to San Pancho’ was released, Lynda Filler’s insatiable appetite for high anxiety in exotic places will leave the reader breathless!

Central to this fast-paced story of young and feisty Peace, a red-headed dynamo who, through the anguish of the recent loss of her mother, finds the beauty and serenity of the seaside village of San Pancho on the Pacific coast of Mexico to be the perfect location to begin her unrelenting search for a father she has never known.

Newfound friend Jared, a rugged and buff heartthrob, extends a supportive hand to Peace during her quest to come to terms with her past and present. All the while, the senseless destruction and killing of innocent nearby village families marks yet another swift and devastating assault by the CIA, DEA and Federales on a mission to capture the elusive and most-wanted Mexican drug cartel crime lord ‘El Chapo’.

Front to back, this gripping novella brings an adrenalin rush of anticipation as scenes play out from the caramel sands of San Pancho. Cascading surf and the fragrance of wild jasmine, combined with scents of the local cuisine, are scintillating. In stark contrast are the dense jungles climbing high into the mountain interface, torrid killing zones where swift and deadly force is waged to weed out a relentless Sinaloa drug cartel and its elusive crime boss.

Tearful and increasingly apprehensive, Peace seeks out clarity through an all-seeing local village Tarot reader who enlightens and proffers a window of opportunity and hope for the young, bereaved woman to reach out and embrace what was in her past and will be in her future that lies ahead.

Embattled by conflicting emotions, Peace finds purpose through the care of grief-stricken children whose sleepless nights and memory-torn days of explosive violence and the death of their beloved parents leaves them orphaned and desperate for love, safe haven and caring.

Nothing hurts more than the pain and anguish seen through the eyes of innocent children.
