Do you believe in miracles?

I got another message today on one of my videos on my Heart ❤️.

Some of you who are new to my world don’t know that basically I was supposed to die in 2008-9. I had a dilated heart that was barely functioning and having heart attacks for months without realizing what was happening!! I dumb down the explanation because it was such an incredible and life-altering time that I can barely write about it without crying! Anyways I told very few people but one of the people who helped me at that time was Jay D Davis who has been a great supporter of my current journey.

You see, every single breath I take since that time is a miracle. That’s why I’m doing this trip! That’s why I left my life in Mexico and am traveling to places I’ve only dreamed of seeing… And that’s also why I have no set destination. Every day is a gift.

That’s also why I choose happiness over sadness no matter what goes on around me. I choose LOVE as my highest value, and love my life so intensely—-every single moment is a miracle. Yes, I wrote the story and from the comments I receive I know it has helped thousands. Maybe you, or someone you know needs to hear my story and know in your heart ❤️ to never, ever give up!!!

Yes, I believe in miracles because I am one.

Here’s my story. If you’re reading this, maybe you or someone near to you needs to hear my story. LOVE the Beat Goes On You can read it for free on Kindle Unlimited on Amazon.

Death Sentence

Six months death sentence.

In 2008 I was told my heart condition was not responding to medication and to get my affairs in order. I’ve never been known to back down from a challenge so I fought back. And I’m still here baby!!

This is what other’s are saying about my story published on Amazon.

My 10 All-time favorite books

You know I’m right in the middle of the action in a great plot for novella #5 in my JET Kindle World series, but I can’t resist answering this Quora question. But it’s not going to be what you expect at all. Each book has affected me on an emotional level or given me “ah ha” moments that stayed with me forever.

  1. Outliers: The Story of Success – Kindle edition by Malcolm Gladwell. Politics & Social Sciences Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. (Ah ha) He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different? Brilliant. As a Canadian, the explanation about hockey players and their success stays with me.
  2. LOVE The Beat Goes On – Kindle edition by Lynda Filler. Self-Help Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. A journey from incurable to healed. “What would you do if the doctors gave you six months to live?” Everything in this memoir has changed my life and is changing the lives of others.
  3. Dreaming the Soul Back Home: Shamanic Dreaming for Healing and Becoming Whole – Kindle edition by Robert Moss. Health, Fitness & Dieting Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. In 2017 I published the above book—a memoir of a healing journey. In desperation for a cure for an ‘incurable’ diagnosis, I traveled to Sedona Arizona and worked with a Shaman named Akal. He introduced me to Robert Moss. I’ve been analyzing my dreams as a way of healing my soul ever since. This book has a special spot on my shelves.
  4. Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life – Kindle edition by Anne Lamott. Reference Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. (Emotional-for me) An authors’ handbook with all the encouragement and acknowledgment of what it takes to continue on a path that seems impossible at times.
  5. https://www.amazon.com/Lone-Wolf-Novel-Jodi-Picoult-ebook/dp/B005JSV0ZW/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr= (totally gut-wrenching reaction to an incredible story) The reviews are very mixed for this book, but there was something in the story of wolves that rocked my world.
  6. You Can Heal Your Life – Kindle edition by Louise L. Hay. Religion & Spirituality Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. I bought my first copy at a psychic convention in 1985 with my sister. Then I bought the 25th year anniversary copy. I lived with this book for most of my adult life. I’ve since written my own book on healing from incurable LOVE The Beat Goes ON.
  7. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change – Kindle edition by Stephen R. Covey. Self-Help Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. Yes, you can learn from books that are perennial best-sellers.
  8. Eat Pray Love: One Woman’s Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia: Elizabeth Gilbert: 9780670034710: Amazon.com: Books I remember where I was sitting on the beach in Puerto Vallarta when a 26 year-old-woman who had recently graduated in Marketing told me about this book. The recent graduate had landed a job with a PR firm to work with this relatively unknown writer who’d penned a ‘travel’ book. A few months later I began a journey, a drive from PV, Mexico to Canada, that would change my life forever. On that trip, I stopped in a bookstore in a mall in Arizona and saw stacks of Eat Pray Love and bought it. Yes, LIz Gilbert affected so many women including myself with this amazing ‘travel’ memoir.
  9. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium Series) – Kindle edition by Stieg Larsson. Mystery, Thriller & Suspense Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. It was so incredibly different than anything I’d ever read.
  10. The Kill Artist (Gabriel Allon Series Book 1) – Kindle edition by Daniel Silva. Mystery, Thriller & Suspense Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com. I have several authors I read in the thriller/suspense/spy genre. I don’t care what any critics have to say. I don’t bother with reviews. These authors are my constant companions. And Daniel Silva is #1. I LOVE Gabriel Allon. How could you not fall in love with an Israel spy who’s also an art restorer and lives in Venice, restores works for the Vatican, and chases bad guys?

So there you have it.

I’d love to add my own books to the mix but if you’re interested you can check out what I’ve written. I published 3 this year and should be working right this minute on a 4th to add to my JET series.

Happy Holidays!

And don’t forget to check out my books on Amazon.

Massive Action

excerpt:

Now, let me be clear about this. I made the final decision to move on with my life over the period of a week, but I made a checklist of everything I wanted, concerning my change of career, in a parking lot while sitting in my car, just before heading inside for the interview for an international sales position.

Fifteen minutes later, in the middle of this interview, my phone rang. I was completely surprised by the person calling me from Whistler, though I politely suggested my caller should call me back in half an hour. I loved the idea of the international sales job with the Miami company but wasn’t completely sure I would be comfortable spending so much time on the road. So I politely declined the offer.

When I received the call back from Whistler, I was offered the position that checked off every single box on my “must-have” list. Just as I had envisioned.

It was November 2007, and as soon as I accepted the position, I set the same intention in my mind to bring a man into my life. I began searching an online dating service in the Seattle area for a guy that might check off all the boxes on my checklist for the kind of relationship I wanted. And he appeared. There was only one thing that would stand in our way, although we didn’t know it at the time, and wouldn’t until a few months later.

I packed up everything that was important to me, filled the back of my new red Jeep Liberty, and set off on the road trip of my dreams.

Was I crazy to drive all by myself through Mexico and up the Pacific Coast of North America? Yes, probably. But I’ve always been fearless and impulsive, and maybe on occasion, you should be too!

It was the middle of November and I had no set schedule — just a destination and two weeks to get there. The longest road trip I’d ever taken by myself, before this trip, was four hours, so I was pushing my own personal limits. As Tony Robbins would say, “I was taking massive action, determined to take back control of my life.”

Let’s Rock!

I felt it was time for an update. So this is the most recent post on YouTube on Cardiomyopathy. I originally started sharing my healing because I believed it was important to give people hope. No matter what the doctor tells you, your life is not over until it’s over!

This is my story, and yes it’s personal; but I really wrote it for you, your friends and family. Everyone needs to know they are not alone in their suffering. I’m someone who cares and I want to share the things that helped me heal. The doctors, and websites at that time, said my heart condition was incurable. But you don’t have to accept it. I didn’t. And now it’s ten years later!

I wish you the best in health and happiness. #LOVE and get out there and live your life!

WOW! This is What She Said.

This morning I received an inquiry about reviewing products for Christmas giving. I get so much email that I normally delete, delete, and delete some more! And then I remembered this review.

I responded politely: “This reader feels that this book might be exactly what you’re looking for…. LOVE The Beat Goes On.

“This book is going in the birthday bags, Christmas stockings and every get well package that I send this year. Lynda Filler’s journey through cardiomyopathy is amazing, inspiring, and thought provoking about more than just illness. Anyone facing a major obstacle, a fork in the road, or looking to reinvent their lives would benefit from a journey through Lynda’s heart and soul story.” EFinn

My story was both painful and joyful to write. I send you #LOVE and Light on your life journey.

Broken Hearts & Naked Selfies

DSCN6821

I LOVE that scientists have been testing the theories I’ve known in my heart to be true! The article referenced below is a study done in the UK about the effects of sudden loss on the physical heart.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/06/18/time-does-not-mend-broken-heart-scientists-find-condition-causes/

But… LOVE can heal it. Let me tell you why. I am my own study or WIP. And have my own theories as to why a heart given six months to live in 2008 still functions, quite beautifully I might add, in 2017! One of the things I stress in LOVE The Beat Goes On, my book on healing from Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy, is LOVE.

LOVE in all its forms can both damage and I believe heal a physical heart.

When I was guided to write my story in 2016, I wrote it out with trepidation. It’s sort of like taking a naked selfie and looking at all the flaws. The real deal is the photo is meant for someone who loves you and only sees your beauty. It turns out that my “story” has been received in the same way. Those who’ve read the book see it for it’s love and honesty and ignore the author’s naiveté.

I cover the journey, not just the diagnosis and healing, but how I think I became ill  in the first place. “Idiopathic” means the doctors have no idea “why” my heart was functioning at 28% EF—that means pumping blood at about half it’s normal rate… swollen…stressed to the max. Sometimes it’s childhood trauma, or alcoholism, or smoking, or whatever… But the doctors couldn’t find any specific cause.

I have a secret: I’d been walking around with a problem heart for years. I kind of knew it from an EKG in the nineties that showed an irregular heartbeat. I had an appointment with a specialist right after that EKG and he said I was in good shape “for a 70 year old” when I was under fifty! He made a follow up appointment for months later. I felt okay; and in Canada appointments with specialists can be months apart, and I was working, and, well, you know what happened. Until I literally had the heart attack in early 2008, I forgot about that EKG and never went back to see a heart doctor.

I believe your journey, or your “story” is often what triggers dramatic illnesses in the body.

I think that’s something that more and more of us, and even the medical profession, are beginning to understand. Your story might not necessarily entail the loss of a loved one. It can be anger you carry around against an ex or parent or abusive adult. It might be the loss of a marriage, a cheating spouse, a money issue, a bankruptcy, the loss of your career. All these things if you allow them to build up trigger emotional and often physical damage to your body. The scientists are doing studies and lending credibility to my theory; but if you wait for the science to do something about it, you could be dead.

# 1 I’ll Take That Anytime

LOVE The Beat Goes On  Kindle and Paperback.

“amazing, inspiring, and thought provoking about more than just illness. Anyone facing a major obstacle, a fork in the road, or looking to reinvent their lives would benefit from a journey through Lynda’s heart and soul story.”

“I finished your book and loved it. It was not preachy and you were humble in how you arrived to this point in your life. You had purpose in wanting to live and that’s good.  I was surprised about the bit about being …*no spoilers* I couldn’t say that to the whole world. You are a free spirit.”

I keep telling myself it’s not a competition. But being #1 in Hot New Releases means AMAZON will take notice and send out promos to readers who traditionally read in this genre. And THAT means everything.
The biggest challenge an Indie Author has is time management. I love interacting with fans/readers. I had a thread going on Face Book the other night that went on for hours! It was fun. But the question is, will it produce sales or is it simply a black hole?
I want to write more and more. But time… I finally bought a great Life/Day Planner from Danielle LaPorte. It arrived this morning! I’m so excited I can’t stand myself. And as soon as I finish at my favorite haunt, Starbucks in Nuevo Vallarta, Mex, I’m getting right to it!
WHAT WILL I DO TO FEEL THE WAY I WANT TO FEEL
Isn’t that perfect?
Thanks for buying my newest book LOVE  The Beat Goes On. It’s very personal and a life mission of mine to help those suffering from incurable or debilitating life events. Yes, there is a shocker in there, probably more than one. I debated putting it in or leaving it out. Then I remembered great advice in Bird By Bird by Anne Lamott on writing: “stop writing as if your mother is reading over your shoulder!” So I went for it.
Live each day as if it is your last. LIVE and LOVE my friends with passion and commitment.

My Story:

In 2008 two events collided. First, I was diagnosed with incurable heart disease, and second, the man I loved went away on a two-week business trip and disappeared for four months. LOVE: The Beat Goes On tells the parts of my life that I can put into print. The rest you will have to fill in with your imagination. This is the story of my journey, the actions I took, and the things I had to let go, to be alive and free from heart disease in 2017.

Love The Beat Goes On 3

“I read the book in one sitting- all I can say is that I am glad you were ready to write because I was ready to read!”

“Your journey has been nothing short of amazing and I am so glad you told it; I believe that it will help many.”

LOVE The Beat Goes On NOW ON AMAZON Kindle Pre-Order, Paperback out by April 2 or sooner.  https://goo.gl/VfRrkf

When your cardiologist tells you to “Get your affairs in order, your heart condition is incurable,” what do you do? In 2008 that’s exactly what happened to me.

In LOVE The Beat Goes On I share my journey in the typical fast-paced, edgy, in-your-face style I’m known for in my novels. I’m hard-hitting, and tell you exactly how it is. I write about romantic experiences that may shock you, but make no apologies for my unconventional life style. Nor do I hold back taking responsibility for the things that I believe created my dis-ease.

You will definitely question a woman who walks around with shortness of breath and blames it on sinus medication; then makes a decision to drive, all alone, from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico to Whistler, Canada with undiagnosed Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Women are often self-care-challenged and I was no the exception.

If you are fighting any kind of illness or dis-ease, you are not alone! I’ve walked my talk, and after an experience in the summer of 2015 relating to Dr. Wayne Dyer, I’m now ready to share my story

I know how it feels to be told you’re not healing or your condition is incurable. At no point will I undermine anything your physicians tell you to do. I am not a medical doctor. I will explain the powerful, yet simple concepts and beliefs that I believe led to my healing. Most of all, I will show you how I used these simple principles to design and live, the fully healed life I now enjoy in 2017.

You will shake your head in wonder, laugh, and maybe cry too.

Thank you for being part of my journey.
